FMG needed a heavy vehicle overpass to allow for the segregation of light and heavy vehicles on the existing Trinity Drive Access Road at their Solomon Mine.
We were engaged by long-time partners, NRW Civil and Mining, to install the multiplate corrugated steel tunnel. It was a true team effort to ensure the quality of the finished project, with NRW preparing the concrete footings. This was pivotal as it allowed us to ensure the first multiplate tunnel arches were installed in alignment.
It ensured the installation of the remaining panels was accurate and went smoothly. Nothing in these parts is small – the end result was an 81m tunnel, 7.2m high and 11.4m wide.
We’re proud to say that our experienced 12-man crew completed these high-risk works on time and without incident.
